To Whom it May Concern:

For several years I have taken art classes by Cathy Taylor at the Barrier Island Group Arts Center (BIG Arts) on Sanibel Island, Florida. Each one has not only been instructive, but lively and a "whole lot of fun". In fact, I repeated one of her courses on watercolor techniques because it was so enjoyable. Cathy has a bubbly personality that connects with her students. She has a way of sharing information that makes making art easy even for the novice because her manner is non-threatening and encourages experimentation. There is never a negative critique in her class. Every remark is phrased in a positive way that encourages her students to strive to improve. Cathy is highly admired and has a large fan club. She is a wonderful artist and person and everyone who knows her agrees she is one of a kind.

Besides being a wonderful teacher, Cathy is a marvelous artist. Her work ranges form collages of whimsical beach cottages to acrylic abstract paintings with strong emotional content.

Being affiliated with Cathy through the Tower Galley in Sanibel where we are both exhibitors, I have come to know her professionally. The Tower Gallery is an art cooperative with 22 participating artists. For the past year, Cathy has been president of the gallery, serving with great respect from we other artists. A knowledgeable businesswoman and a "mover and shaker",she kept the gallery happy and productive.

I attribute my participation at the Tower Gallery as a professional artist primarily to Cathy’s encouragement and those courses of Cathy’s I attended.
