MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE WORKSHOP
The art of collage offers enormous creative potential...easy and non-intimidating for the beginner and expansive and challenging for the advanced artist.
Join Cathy Taylor, award winning mixed media artist and member of the National Collage Society for an exploration into the limitless world of collage.
Topics include found paper collage, fumage, photomontage, collage with mixed media, rice paper collage, frontage, photo transfer techniques, found object collage, and monoprinting into collage along with other exciting techniques. Each session will begin with exciting, fun filled demonstrations followed by lots of time to create.
Bring a spirit open to endless possibilities, some glue, and lots and lots of stuff and junk! (See materials list)
MATERIALS LIST
Watercolor paper - 140 lb cold or hot press, any brand 6 sheets of 22x30"
Pigments - watercolors, acrylics, inks, and a couple oils
Brushes - your favorite watercolor or acrylic brushes and a couple cheap foam brushes
Glue - any glue such as Elmers, Sobo, or Craft glue
Acrylic matte gel medium
Scissors and/or exacto knife
Pencils, colored pencils, crayons
Paper towels and apron
Water container, sponges, spray bottle
Metal spoon
Soft brayer if you have one
Gum Arabic
Clear laminate contact paper...Office depot or Staples
FOUND MATERIALS
photocopies of images or photos
old magazines, maps, letters, playbills, greeting cards, doilies, stencils, memorabilia, wrapping paper, photos, lace, fabric, labels, flowers, leaves, feathers, wallpaper, rice paper, tissue paper, any paper, old yucky paintings other stuff and junk...use your imagination!!!!
